Custom Industrial Mezzanine Project for South King Fire & Rescue

Recently, FCP was commissioned to develop a custom industrial mezzanine for DACO, with the end user being South King Fire & Rescue. The challenge at hand was to increase floor space to enhance storage capacity and organization. This would streamline the picking process during emergencies and promote a safer work environment by reducing clutter.

FCP’s solution was the Connect-Rite™ system, an AISI bi-directional unique bolt-together rigid-frame system. Unlike other mezzanines, this mezzanine did not require bracing, resulting in a more open appearance and minimal interference with forklift traffic. The all-galvanized framing and steel decking enhance visibility by reflecting light below the platform.

The client noted that compared to a similar structure installed by a different company at another location, FCP’s product was much more robust, better constructed, and aesthetically pleasing. The success of this project, combined with strong communication from DACO and the quality product provided by FCP, has paved the way for future collaborations with the city of Federal Way.

Additionally, the platform has been designed for future expansion, ensuring that South King Fire & Rescue can adapt to increasing space requirements as needed.
